McALLEN - The city of McAllen has adopted the rules for the operation of food trucks and food vendors have submitted their applications.
Still, no food trucks are operating in that city.
McAllen Health Director Josh Ramirez said dozens of applications were submitted by food vendors interested in operating food trucks in the city.
So far, none of the 12 allotted permits have been issued.
Ramirez said the food trucks will be inspected before they issue any permits.
Many of the applicants ordered customized trucks and are waiting for delivery of the vehicles.
