ATHENS, Texas (AP) A school bus struck another from behind in a small East Texas town, sending nine students to the hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman says none of the injuries were life-threatening.
The accident happened Wednesday afternoon in Athens when the buses containing about 70 elementary school students collided. Spokeswoman Rebecca Berkley at East Texas Medical Center Athens says nine students were brought to the hospital by ambulance with injuries ranging from fractures to bumps and bruises. Sixty other children arrived by bus for precautionary examination.
Berkley says all of the students were treated for their injuries and discharged.
Athens is a town of about 13,000 residents about 70 miles southeast of Dallas.
