BERLIN "Baby boxes," a place where a desperate parent can anonymously leave an unwanted infant, have drawn the attention of U.N. human rights advocates. The group thinks the boxes, used in 11 European countries, are bad for the children and merely avoid dealing with the problems that lead to child abandonment and are seeking to have them banned.
