SOUTH PADRE ISLAND - A beachgoer today discovered the body of a woman north of Beach Access 6 near the Willacy County line, officials said.
Investigators said the woman's body was clad in green shorts and a purple shirt. Officials believe the body may have been at the site for at least one week.
Officials said coyotes were roaming near the body when it was found on the shoreline at about 2 p.m.
Investigators have not determined the woman's identity or cause of death. A justice of the peace ordered and autopsy.
