McALLEN - A McAllen resident is tracking down a repair shop owner in hopes or recuperating his boat.

Buddy Garza said he took his boat to Boat Workz Unlimited for some repairs. The shop owner, Brent Williquette, charged him $2,000 for engine repairs but never finished the job.

"My boat is sitting over there ... that blue one," Garza said pointing at his boat behind a fence. "All I want is to get my boat out of here."

Garza's boat has been at Boat Workz Unlimited for more than 18 months.

"It's obvious nothing is going to be done," Garza said.

Garza said he asked for his boat back several times. He claims Williquette only delivered empty promises.

"He kept saying it'd be a couple of weeks. Half the time I couldn't find him," Garza said.

Garza claims Williquette left town late last year.

"He told me he had been offered a job in New York to fix boats after the hurricane. But he said, 'don't worry I'll get your boat out before I leave," Garza said.

Now Williquette won't answer any calls. Even the property owner can't get in touch with him.
