Body of Fallen Valley Soldier Arriving Home Sunday

San Juan- The body of a fallen Valley soldier will return home this weekend. CHANNEL 5 NEWS confirmed the remains of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jose Montenegro will arrive by plane around noon on Sunday at Mccreary Aviation in Mcallen.
Hidalgo County Veterans Services Director Emilio De los Santos says from there, Montenegro will be taken to the Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Viewing will be held Monday and Tuesday. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday. The hours for the viewing and funeral services have not been finalized. Montenegro will be buried at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery on Inspiration Road in Mission.
He was killed September 5 in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. He's the 39th soldier from the Rio Grande Valley to be killed in Iraq or Afghanistan.
