WESLACO – A boil water notice is now in effect in the areas of south Alamo and south of San Juan.

Military Highway Water Supply says the affected areas are from the intersection of Moore Road and Border Road and west to Moore and FM 2557; then south to FM 2557 and the Arroyo Colorado and from Arroyo Colorado Road and Border Road.

The company says a main water line break is the cause of low water pressure which occurred around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the company to notify customers to boil the water for two minutes before consumption.

The advisory is issued to reduce the risk of exposure to harmful bacteria that may have been released into the water line.

Customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted.

If customers have any questions, they may contact customer services at 956-565-2491.
