Bomb Squad Detonates Grenade Found In Starr County

STARR COUNTY - A grenade found by a rancher over the weekend near the banks of the Rio Grande had been dismantled and repacked with black powder and ball bearings, officials said.
Officials said the man called the Starr County Sheriff's Office who in turn called the McAllen Police Department bomb squad. The bomb was detonated in a remote area.
Investigators said the explosive was intended top cause massive damage.
