COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) Texas A&M University officials are investigating a bomb threat at Kyle Field that prompted school officials to issue a "Code Maroon" safety advisory and close the stadium and nearby buildings.
A statement Wednesday afternoon from the school in College Station says the football stadium and adjacent buildings that were evacuated will remain closed for the rest of the day. The evacuation displaced about 700 people.
University officials say all activities and events at facilities not evacuated will proceed as scheduled.
A&M says the threat was written on a wall of a nonacademic campus facility and officials were told of it at 10:50 a.m. The initial "Code Maroon" message was flashed at 12:25 p.m.
Kyle Field seats nearly 83,000.
