McALLEN - Hundreds of illegal immigrants are back at a Border Patrol station after a scabies outbreak.

The immigrants were moved to other sites for about 24 hours after the outbreak.

Border Patrol officials said it's unclear where the scabies outbreak started.

"The processing facility was sterilized, sanitized," Border Patrol Spokesman Daniel Tirado said.

The illegal immigrants were driven to other stations in and out of the Valley.

"Every individual that is apprehended by Border Patrol agents is being checked to make sure that we don't bring in somebody who's contaminated and then spread that to other individuals," Tirado said.

A doctor checked the immigrants.

Tirado said the patrol vehicles also were sanitized.
