BROWNSVILLE - Officials are asking parents in Brownsville to check their children's backpacks before sending them to school.
The notice comes after school employees found two box cutters inside the backpack of an Egly Elementary School student. Officials said the student was showing one of the blades to a classmate.
The incident happened Wednesday, police said.
School officials did not say what type of disciplinary action the child will face.
