PHARR - Police say a homeowner shot one suspected burglar and held a second one at gunpoint after a botched burglary this morning.

"Everything right now does not point to any narcotics-related, home invasion or anything of that sort. Everything right now is just pointing to burglary of habitation that was in progress in the middle of the day," said Pharr Police Chief Ruben Villescas.

According to Pharr police a third suspect got away. They say he may be driving a green Jeep Cherokee.

The incident happened just after 11 a.m. at a home on the 700 block of Bronze.

Police say the injured suspect was taken to a local hospital. There is no word yet on his condition.
