Broncs Split, UTB/TSC Plays Saturday

SHREVEPORT, LA - The UTB/TSC baseball Scorpions (28-24, 16-11) open Red River Conference tournament play Saturday in Shreveport against Texas Wesleyan. The Scorpions are the fourth seed in the double-elimination tournament and head coach Bryan Aughney hopes his team can extend the season with a tournament championship. UT-Pan American (22-12, 9-5) played Great West Conference games in Chicago on Friday and split a double header. The Broncs won the opener 5-3, but dropped the nightcap 4-1. Dusten Knight struck out 10 Cougars in the game two loss.
