Brownsville Officer Injured in Accident

BROWNSVILLE - A Brownsville police officer injured while directing traffic was hit by his own unit, officials said.
Officials said Francisco Santillan crashed into the officer's unit causing it to spin and hit the officer.
The accident happened Saturday on Expressway 77/83. The officer was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville for treatment.
Santillan was arrested and charged with intoxication assault.
His bond was set $7,500.
