BROWNSVILLE - Brownsville police arrested a man who authorities say was selling drugs during a drug rehab class.
Brownsville PD's special investigation unit arrested the 23-year-old man Tuesday. Police say an anonymous tip sparked the bust.
Authorities say they cuffed Luis Abel Zelaya as he was leaving the Cameron County courthouse. That's where Zelaya was attending a rehab class as part of his probation.
Police searched the man and found 1.6 grams of cocaine separated in three baggies. Investigators say Zelaya was selling cocaine to several classmates who were all attending the same rehab class.
The 23-year-old is charged with possession of a controlled substance. It's a third-degree felony. If convicted, Zelaya could spend as much as a decade behind bars.
