Build a Better Block at Market Square will be on July 21st

Market Square, in downtown Brownsville, will be temporarily converted to an active and lively pedestrian plaza on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.;
complete with food, music, art, children's activities, sidewalk cafes, outdoor seating, bicycle lanes, and more. Free and open to the public. Come out and Experience Market Square!

About Better Block:
The "Better Block" project is a demonstration tool that temporarily redesigns an area to show the potential to create a great walkable, vibrant neighborhood center. The project creates a real life model for the community to actively engage in "complete streets" design concepts. Pop-up businesses are also developed to allow the community to see the potential for revitalized economic activity in an area.
