WESLACO - Mexican television station Televisa got video of a cartel kidnapping. Video recorded on a sunny day in Reynosa shows a group of men surrounding a man on the ground. The video was taken on April 26. Cars and buses could be seen bustling about, as the group of men loads the man into a pickup.
"It looks like a planned cartel kidnapping," says Phil Jordan, a former Drug Enforcement Administration supervisor. "I doubt the person they kidnapped is alive."
"This is an incredible daylight assault," he adds. "The guy that has the tire iron... he could conceivably be a police man."
Jordan says he's not surprised no one stopped to help, "because they could get killed immediately on the spot."
The former DEA supervisor tells us the cartels went after the kidnap victim, because he lost a drug load, stole from them or was an informant for the feds.
We don't know who the victim is. Jordan says we'll never know. His family may never know either. They may never find his body.
