CAMERON COUNTY - A man is behind bars after Cameron County Sheriff's deputies found thousands of dollars stuffed into teddy bears during a traffic stop.
Mauricio Fabian Bermudez Rodriguez was booked Wednesday into the Cameron County jail on money laundering charges. He also is being held on a Border Patrol detainer.
Bermudez had $47,000 stuffed into two teddy bears and $5,000 in a purse, officials said.
Deputies also found a scale with cocaine residue inside Bermudez's car. He also had a client ledger.
Officials said Bermudez is most likely a cocaine dealer.
