Cincinnati narrowly beat Houston 61-60

HOUSTON (AP) Sean Kilpatrick had 17 points as Cincinnati withstood a Houston rally in the second half to pull out a 61-60 win Tuesday night for their seventh straight win.

Jermaine Sanders added 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, and Titus Rubles chipped in seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bearcats (14-2, 3-0 American), which shot 37 percent from the field and 53 percent from the free throw line.

Brandon Morris led Houston (10-6, 2-1) with 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. Jherrod Stiggers had 11 off the bench, and TaShawn Thomas added 10 points and nine rebounds for Houston, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped.

Kevin Johnson hit two free throws with 11 seconds to go to push the lead to four.
