HIDALGO - The city of Hidalgo's municipal court is offering an amnesty program from now to June 30 for people with warrants for failure-to-appear-in-court fines.

The amnesty will allow for the failure-to-appear fine to be waived when the defendant pays the fine in full or makes payment arrangements. Payments can be made online at www.trafficpayment.com or by calling toll free at 1-800-444-1187.

Drivers with outstanding warrants for violations like speeding, driving without a license, expired vehicle inspection stickers and expired vehicle registration stickers are encouraged to take advantage of the amnesty program.
