SOUTH PADRE ISLAND - A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued five people from a truck on South Padre Island.

The truck had been trapped since Saturday afternoon. We're told the people in the truck feared for their safety, when a storm hit Sunday morning. They called 911.

The Cameron County Sheriff's Department asked the Coast Guard for back up when they couldn't reach the vehicle. The Coast Guard sent a helicopter and hoisted the four adults and one child to safety.
