Corpus Christi Man Sentenced to 27 Months for Role in Bribing Former Judge

CAMERON COUNTY - A Corpus Christi man was sentenced for his role in bribing former Cameron County Judge Abel Limas.
Armando Pena will spend 27 months in federal prison. He confessed to bribing Limas with $1,800 four years ago. Pena wanted Limas to change the terms of his probation so he asked his wife to send the money through a middleman to the judge.
His wife pleaded guilty to wire fraud and is awaiting sentencing. Pena must also perform 150 hours of community service.
