HIDALGO COUNTY - Sheriff's investigators are back on the banks of a canal east of I Road in Lopezville searching for a murder weapon.

The investigators also are speaking with area residents to find out if anyone saw the suspect discard the weapon.

Deputies said the weapon was used to kill Pablo Torres Jr. early Sunday on the 4000 block of Rodriguez Street.

Carlos Saldaña, 20, confessed to the crime and told investigators where to find the gun.

Two other people also were arrested in the murder, police said.
