In case you're wondering, STAAR stands for State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness.
This new test will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Program or TAKS beginning this spring.
The superintendent for the Raymondville ISD says all Texas school districts have a huge challenge ahead with STAAR...but he says Region One is helping to gear up Valley school districts.
