Driver in Mail Carrier Vehicle Hit Pedestrian

EDINBURG - Police are investigating an Edinburg accident that involved a U.S. mail carrier vehicle.

It happened on the corner of Richardson and M Road this morning. One person was hit.

Several Edinburg police units were on scene, along with an ambulance. Officers told us the mail carrier vehicle hit a woman. They said she was eating and not paying attention to the road, when the vehicle hit her.

We learned she was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The driver wasn't injured. He did stop to render aid. Police said at this point, it's unlikely the driver will face any charges.
