Edinburg CISD Hosts First Shredding Ceremony

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District is helping some students who commit offenses get their lives back on track.

Ten students Monday are getting a second chance and the first ever Shredding Ceremony.

The ceremony was hosted by the Edinburg CISD Police Department for students who committed a class "A" or "B" misdemeanor.

The students were required to attend two hour classes with their parent every Wednesday evening at the Edinburg CISD police training room.

The program is available to firm time offenders between the ages of 10 and 16.
