HIDALGO - An Edinburg man accused of vandalizing a priceless painting is in custody.
Uriel Landeros turned himself into authorities at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge yesterday. The 22-year-old man was reportedly caught on camera spray-painting a bull and the word "conquista" on Pablo Picasso's "Woman in a Red Armchair." The painting was on display at the Menil Collection in Houston.
Landeros later released a series of YouTube videos claiming he did it to protest corrupt leaders in the United States and Mexico.
He'll be sent back to Houston to face vandalism charges.
