EDINBURG - Edinburg police are looking for a man accused of stealing a car, leading officers on a chase and then crashing into a bystander. Lt. Oscar Trevino tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the suspect stole a vehicle from an apartment earlier this morning. He and another man took off in the vehicle.
An Hidalgo County sheriff's deputy spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to pull the driver over, but the men took off. The deputy chased after the vehicle.
Police said during the pursuit, the suspects crashed into a woman in a white car. She suffered minor injuries and went to the hospital to be checked out.
Police and deputies eventually located the passenger in the stolen vehicle. The search continues for the driver on Davis just north of Monte Cristo.
