Elderly Residents Evacuated After Fire

WESLACO - Eighty-five senior citizens were evacuated from an apartment complex on the 300 block of West 6th Street Saturday night.
The evacuation was prompted by a fire on the balcony of one of the units. Firefighters were concerned about the possibility of oxygen tanks catching fire.
Once the fire was extinguished all 85 residents were allowed back inside.
No one was injured.
