BROWNSVILLE - The three victims of an explosion in Bronwsivlle continue to recover in San Antonio and Galveston hospitals.
Five-year-old Andrea Juarez is listed in critical but stable condition. Her parents are listed in stable condition. Jesus Juarez, 26, Iviz Machado, 30, and Andrea Juarez were injured in the blast Friday morning. Police said Juarez and Machado were taken to a San Antonio hospital and the 5-year-old was taken to one in Galveston.
The explosion happened at a home on the 3000 block of Resaca Vista Drive in north Brownsville. Investigators are still trying to determine who left a box with explosives outside the home. Investigators said it was delivered during the night.
The explosives went off after someone took the box into the house, officials said. Police said the box contained multiple bombs, but only one exploded.
"The person or persons who are responsible for this ... who put this device together knew what they were doing. They put together a pretty sophisticated device. It just didn't work out to their satisfaction," Brownsville Police Chief Orlando Rodriguez said.
