ALAMO - One family is struggling to cope with a double loss. A fire badly damaged their home in early May, and now thieves are walking off with their remaining property.

The house is without power and they have to keep their property in the back yard. "They've been stealing everything that's in the back. They've stolen compressors, my little boy's car, some DVDs, my mom's little ornaments she had all over the house, because she likes to decorate," says Angela Torres.

The Torres' figure the thieves are just jumping over the back fence and taking what they want. They say more than $1,000 worth of property has gone missing. Alamo police say it's the homeowner's responsibility to secure their property. But they are investigating the theft reports.
