DONNA - The Nikki Rowe Warriors showed patience and it paid off Friday night in 30-5A boys' basketball action at Donna. The Warriors rallied to take a two point win on the road, 41-39, as part of "Fast Break Friday" festivities for the night. There was another squeeker, not so much on the final scoreboard, but because it took two overtimes for Roma to defeat Hidalgo 64-56 in 32-4A boys' play. Other final scores reported to Channel 5 Sports on Friday included boys' wins for McAllen over Mission 69-56, Edinburg North stopping PSJA North 49-26 and Santa Rosa defeating Brownsville IDEA 76-41. In girls' play Friday, McAllen took Mission 29-13, PSJA North handled Edinburg North 45-40, Harlingen pounded Economedes 69-26 and Pace edged Porter 32-28.
