Filmmakers to Gather at South Padre Island for 25th Annual CineSol Film Festival

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND –  Filmmakers from across the globe will be heading over to South Padre Island this week.

They will be attending the 25th Annual CineSol Film Festival, a showcase festival celebrating achievement in the art of filmmaking.

CineSol is dedicated to furthering the art, craft and business of screenwriters and filmmakers and recognizing their artistic contributions.

The festival will be held at South Padre Island Convention Center from Friday, Nov. 16 to Sunday, Nov. 18.

CineSol will be screening 40 independent films over three days. Films include 10 documentaries, six feature films and 24 short films.

The films are from all over the world, such as the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Ireland, Bulgaria, Mexico and Spain.

The celebrity guest this year will be McAllen graduate and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. She will be leading a master class Saturday afternoon. 

Saturday evening, CineSol will be screening the 10th Anniversary of Twilight followed by a Q&A segment with Hardwicke.

She will also be showing exclusive footage of her upcoming feature, which is to be released in Jan. 2019, Miss Bala.

Every event at the festival will be $5, except for Tejano and 36 Hour Film Race Results, which will be $10. Additionally, a weekend pass will be $50.
