EDINBURG - A former investigator with the Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office will be released on bond, officials said.
Aida Palacios was named recently in a federal drug indictment. She is accused of having ties to a drug distribution ring.
Officials said the alleged drug smuggling ring was part of the attempted murder of a federal agent near Hargill in July. Investigators said Palacios became involved with Julio Armando Davila, a co-defendant in the case.
Palacios worked for the county's hot-check division before resigning in August, officials said.
