Garland officer fatally shoots man in Mesquite

MESQUITE, Texas (AP) A suburban Dallas police officer has shot and killed a man after the fleeing suspect's vehicle rammed a patrol car.
Police say the incident began early Friday in Garland but ended in neighboring Mesquite following a chase.
Investigators say the pickup truck driver refused to pull over in Garland. Officer Joe Harn says the suspect earlier this week was chased by police in nearby Sachse (SAK'-see) but escaped. Officers had the description of the man and the truck.
Several law enforcement agencies joined Friday's chase of that truck into a Mesquite neighborhood. A Garland officer shot and killed the 25-year-old suspect who drove his truck into a squad car.
Names of the officer and the suspect weren't immediately released.
