It's all about giving back..some former Gear Up students are grateful for their experience and now they want to pay it forward.
Francisco Javier Jimenez is a proud Weslaco High School graduate. He now attends the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg. He isnt your typical college freshman..in fact..he's starting his first year of college as a junior thanks to the dual enrollment program and Gear Up.
He started his first year of college with 53 hours under his belt. Francisco says the Gear Up project which he was part of from middle school all the way to high school paved the way to success.
He wants to make sure the newbie gear up students are not nervous and plans to reach out to them. Francisco says it's all about the results.
