Harlingen Man Declared Competent to Stand Trial

HARLINGEN - A man who allegedly threatened to kill a jailer and a witness has been declared competent to stand trial.
Richard Brelo had been declared incompetent to stand trial in February. He spent several months in a psychiatric hospital. He faces two felony charges in connection with the threats he allegedly made in September 2011, officials said.
Police of Friday arrested Brelo and transported him to the Cameron County jail.
