Harlingen Police: Bottle Rocket Used to Start Fire

HARLINGEN - A 27-year-old Harlingen woman is facing arson charges. Brenda Lee Villarreal is accused of using a bottle rocket to start a fire on Christmas night.
The owner of a home on the 400 block of South K Street said Villarreal targeted his front glass door with the bottle rocket. Police said the firework shattered the glass door and landed in the living room, causing a fire.
The homeowner helped an elderly relative out of the house and then put out the fire. The living room sustained damages.
Villarreal was later arrested. Her bond was set at $5,000.
