WASHINGTON (AP) The National Archives is displaying rarely seen documents and items showing milestones in manned spaceflight from President Richard Nixon's administration. NASA sent the first men to the moon on the Apollo 11 mission during Nixon's presidency and followed with five more lunar missions.

BOWIE, Md. (AP) Prince George's County fire officials say a dog led a retired firefighter to a woman trapped in a burning Bowie home. Fire officials say retired firefighter Billy Mills was running errands when he saw smoke and investigated. The barking dog then led Mills to a sliding glass door where he spotted the woman inside the home and pulled her to safety.

WASHINGTON (AP) Prosecutors in Washington haven't decided whether to retry a district man whose conviction for the beating and robbery of an 83-year-old vendor has been overturned. The D.C. Court of Appeals ruled 5-2 last week that detectives violated the rights of James Dorsey by handcuffing him to a chair for 13 hours during questioning.

NEW MARKET, Md. (AP) New Market town officials are considering an annexation that would double the Frederick County town's size. The proposal to expand by nearly 400 acres is opposed by preservation and conservation groups that have sued town officials in the past over growth plans.
