RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) North Carolina's new governor plans to meet with reporters and his cabinet before heading for his first out-of-town trip since taking office. Gov. Pat McCrory plans his first news conference today as well as his first cabinet meeting. McCrory took the oath of office Saturday in a private ceremony.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Police say U.S. Sen. Rand Paul's son was arrested after a flight from Kentucky to North Carolina. Nineteen-year-old William Hilton Paul was arrested Saturday morning at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and charged with alcohol-related offenses.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indianapolis-based National FFA Organization has chosen an agricultural education leader from North Carolina as its new chief operating officer. Joshua Bledsoe of Raleigh, N.C., was named Friday to the post. He'll manage major FFA operations and oversee implementation of the 557,318-member FFA's strategic plan.
