COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Governor John Kasich says state school board president Debe Terhar (DEH'-bee TAYR'-hahr) shouldn't lose her job for her Facebook post criticizing President's Obama's gun control proposals and including a photo of Adolf Hitler. Kasich tells The Columbus Dispatch that Terhar has admitted the mistake, and further action isn't necessary.
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) The leader of the Air Force Materiel Command based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Ohio is imposing a temporary civilian hiring freeze and firing non-critical temporary employees. General Janet Wolfenbarger says budget uncertainties are behind the cuts. The command is also cutting travel costs and deferring modernization projects.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Columbus police have arrested a 17-year-old and 15-year-old in last week's fatal shooting of another teen in an after-school fight. The suspects are charged in the shooting death of 15-year-old Kauwaun Coleman near a McDonald's restaurant. Police say the accused teens have lengthy criminal records.
ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) A Lorain County judge has ordered a deadbeat father to avoid having more children until he can support the four he has. Asim Taylor of Elyria (eh-LEER'-ee-uh) already owes $97,000 in back child support. The defense says the ruling violates Taylor's rights and plans an appeal.
