WACO, Texas (AP) Two children have died in an early morning house fire in Waco. Police and fire units responded to the blaze at 2:10 a.m. yesterday. The 21-year-old mother of the children escaped with two of her other children, and they were transported by ambulance to Hillcrest Hospital.
SLIDELL, La. (AP) A 19-year-old Texas woman was killed when a pickup crashed into her car on Interstate 12 in Slidell, Louisiana. Authorities say Kristen Stoltman of The Woodlands was driving a small Mazda eastbound around 6 p.m. Friday when traffic slowed near exit 80. Stoltman was killed on impact when a Dodge pickup driven by Kevin Greenwood of Ormond Beach, Florida failed to slow down and struck her vehicle from behind. Greenwood is being held in the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) A pair of Sam Houston State cowboys are spending a lot of time in an ambulance this year but not because they're hurt. Jeremy Melancon and Sterling Crawley converted an old ambulance into a traveling dorm room of sorts. They were in Casper, Wyoming this past week for the College National Finals Rodeo.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) The parents of a Texas high school graduate shot to death outside an Orlando, Florida nightclub are asking for the public's help in finding out what happened to their son. The family of 18-year-old Dino Cannon made a tearful plea for information yesterday. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-423-TIPS.
