Police says the incident began this morning in Garland but ended in neighboring Mesquite. A Garland officer shot and killed the 25-year-old suspect who drove his truck into a squad car.

WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama is visiting a Texas military base exactly two years after he formally declared the end of the U.S. combat mission in Iraq. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A federal court in Washington has struck down a Texas law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls. ALLEN, Texas (AP) A wealthy Dallas suburb is gearing up to open its new $60 million high school football stadium, which includes 18,000 seats and a 38-foot-wide high-definition video screen. Allen High School will face defending state champions Southlake Carroll tonight. Allen voters approved a $119 million bond issue that pays for the stadium and other district facilities.
