HOUSTON (AP) Two men have entered guilty pleas on charges that they tried to defraud people suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease and other neurological diseases. Fifty-two-year-old Francisco Morales of Brownsville and 59-year-old Lawrence Stowe, a former Fort Worth resident, both entered pleas in a conspiracy to introduce misbranded and unapproved new drugs into interstate commerce.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) It's a not guilty verdict for a man in the deaths of a married couple on a tandem bicycle. Forty-three-year-old Gilbert John Sullaway could have faced up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of criminally negligent homicide.
HOUSTON (AP) A dog in Houston has died after being attacked by a swarm of bees. Agathe Bourgogne was walking her 5-year-old mixed-breed rescue dog Bella when the dog was stung 14 times in the face. The bees were apparently agitated by a lawn mower that passed over their hive.
DALLAS (AP) The new Big 12 has a new television contract to go along with it. The conference reached a deal yesterday with ESPN and Fox Sports on a 13-year contract to televise football and men's basketball. It's reportedly worth $2.6 billion. ESPN will televise up to 19 conference-controlled football games through 2015, and up to 23 after that.
