SAN ANTONIO (AP) An Air Force instructor charged in a widening sex scandal at Lackland Air Force Base has admitted to having a tryst with a boot camp graduate. Kwinton Estacio pleaded guilty yesterday to charges of violating Air Force rules that bar instructors from having personal relationships with trainees. But Estacio pleaded not guilty to the more serious charge of sexual assault.

GAINESVILLE, Texas (AP) A third death from West Nile virus has been reported from the Texas Red River area. Cooke County has reported the death of a 76-year-old man who lived in Gainesville. That brings the 2012 West Nile death toll statewide to at least 48.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Former Texas lawmaker Bob Gammage has died at the age of 74. Relatives say the cause of death yesterday was believed to be a heart attack. Gammage served in the Texas House from 1971 until 1973. He was part of the "Dirty 30" who rallied against officials investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A 29-year-old Austin man has died five months after authorities say he was set on fire by his wife. The Bexar County medical examiner's office has ruled Bimal Patel's death on Saturday a homicide. His wife, Shriya Biman Patel, has remained in Travis County Jail since the April 17th incident.
