SAN ANTONIO (AP) A military jury has sentenced an Air Force basic training instructor to one year in prison after he pleaded guilty to having sex with a trainee. The jury yesterday also sentenced Kwinton Estacio to reduction in rank and a dishonorable discharge. Estacio was charged in a widening sex scandal at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

DALLAS (AP) A woman on death row in Texas for stabbing and bludgeoning a 71-year-old woman to death has received a January 29th execution date. Kimberly McCarthy was sentenced to death for the July 1997 killing of retired college professor Dorothy Booth in Lancaster. McCarthy is one of 10 women sentenced to die in Texas.

HOUSTON (AP) The parents of a Texas boy found in March after being kidnapped as an infant are having weekly therapy sessions with the child in hopes of regaining custody. A judge yesterday ordered that eight-year-old Miguel Morin of Houston remain in foster care while the meetings continue. Morin's attorney says the sessions are going well, but the boy remains cautious.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Governor Rick Perry blames the Obama administration for the death of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in an attack in Libya. Perry issued a statement yesterday blasting the president for condemning the attacks yet acknowledging "our attackers' supposed justification." Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed in Tuesday's attacks in the city of Benghazi.
