MEXICO CITY (AP) A random search by Mexican customs agents has turned up more than half a million dollars in cash hidden in the door panels of a vehicle entering Mexico. It happened at Matamoros across from the border town of Brownsville, Texas. The Tax Administration Service says the driver tried to take the "nothing to declare" lane.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) The widow and other family members of a slain North Texas pastor have taken the stand in the sentencing hearing of his convicted killer. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Steven Lawayne Nelson for the death of Clinton Dobson. He was convicted Monday in Dobson's suffocation death.

DALLAS (AP) Even for a self-proclaimed low-fare airline, prices are about to go up. Southwest Airlines says it'll raise fees on many routes by as much as $10 per round trip. United Airlines announced an increase of its own earlier this week. A Southwest spokesman says the hike is needed because of rising costs.

DALLAS (AP) A week after grounding four dozen planes to prevent seats from coming loose during flight, American Airlines is preparing to do it on another batch. The airline says crews will work on 49 planes this time. They'll add a backup locking device to seats in most Boeing 767's, which are widely used on international flights.
