SAN ANTONIO (AP) A 65-year-old Bexar County man has died after being attacked by bees while mowing his lawn. Family members say Juan Urrutia and his brother were mowing the yard last Thursday when both men were stung. A funeral for Urrutia has been scheduled for today in San Antonio.

HOUSTON (AP) Olympic BMX cyclist Kyle Bennett has been killed in an automobile accident in East Texas. USA Cycling says the single-vehicle crash occurred early yesterday in Conroe. The 33-year-old was a three-time BMX world champion and won an automatic spot on the first U.S. BMX Olympic team in 2008.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) Hundreds of landowners along the U.S. border with Mexican have been seeking fair prices for property that was condemned to make way for a security fence. But many landowners received initial offers that were far below market value, and several accepted those amounts without seeking any legal help. Federal attorneys say the initial offers represented only a starting amount.

HOUSTON (AP) A man has been hospitalized after being struck by lightning while working on a roof in Houston. Harris County sheriff's officials say the 30-year-old man was struck yesterday morning. Authorities say his co-workers brought him to the ground and performed CPR before emergency responders arrived.
