AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Secretary of State Hope Andrade has resigned as the chief elections official in Texas. A state spokesman says Andrade felt it was the right time to move on after overseeing the state's latest elections. Her last day will be Friday.

DALLAS (AP) The former corporate spokesman for computer game retailer Gamestop has admitted to defrauding the Grapevine, Texas-based company out of almost $2 million. Frank Christopher Olivera pleaded guilty today in Dallas and faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

DALLAS (AP) The head of the pilots' union is lobbying for a tentative contract with American Airlines. Allied Pilots Association president Keith Wilson says the contract would eventually boost pay to industry standards. Voting on the new contract ends early next month. American cut pay and benefits after pilots rejected another contract offer in August.

DALLAS (AP) Pulitzer-winning historian David McCullough will headline a ceremony next year in Dallas to mark 50 years since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. McCullough will serve as keynote speaker for a commemoration scheduled for November 22nd next year. The day will be exactly 50 years since a gunman fired on Kennedy's motorcade as it passed through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas.
