KILLEEN, Texas (AP) An autopsy has been ordered for an infant found dead in restroom at a Walmart Superstore in Killeen. Police say an employee found the child not breathing yesterday. Authorities say they're appealing for the mother to seek medical attention immediately or contact police.
EL PASO, Texas (AP) Relatives of Army Pvt. Juan C. Marquez had been trying for years to get the World War II veteran a Purple Heart posthumously. Yesterday they finally saw it through, receiving the award in a West Texas ceremony. He was injured in 1944 when he was fatally struck by a German tank in France.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) A man who confessed to killing eight people before committing suicide in an Alaska jail has told authorities he took lives for pleasure. Israel Keyes was arrested in March in Texas. FBI and Anchorage Police Department investigators said yesterday they think he may have had up to three additional victims.
TIMPSON, Texas (AP) No damage has been reported after a small earthquake hit near Timpson in East Texas. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake yesterday afternoon was 2.8-magnitute. Timpson is a town of 1,000 people located about 70 miles southeast of Tyler.
